With Emerson Royal the current right wing-back at Tottenham these days, the London club aren’t desperate for a player in that position.

However, that doesn’t mean Antonio Conte, who had the likes of Achraf Hakimi at Inter to work with, won’t want an upgrade in the future.

This hasn’t been a strong topic of discussion to date, but there are some players out there that have impressed the Tottenham manager in the past, such as Wilfried Singo.

The defender, currently at Torino, has even been the subject of interest from Tottenham in the past, with claims that Fabio Paratici made an ‘important offer’ last May.

Since the start of the season, however, the player has struggled to find the same form that impressed Conte in the past, with Tuttosport recalling the manager once said: “I constantly saw a train whizzing past me that never stopped; an incredible player who impressed me.”

That was when he was at Inter, which is clearly why Tottenham will have made a move in May, but the Italian newspaper explain the Serie A side ‘refused all the proposals’, as they were ‘convinced that the boy’s potential, both technical and financial, was still rising’.

The problem is that he hasn’t showcased the same ability this season, failing to have a strong impact in any of his six appearances in Serie A this season, with his only contribution being an assist in a 3-0 Coppa Italia win over Palermo.

Torino are said to be working to rectify all this, with a special program set up for him, but if his form doesn’t pick up before January, there might be an opportunity for Tottenham there, where Conte will undoubtedly get him to play at his best, as he has done with many other players at Spurs since his arrival.
