For the past few weeks, reports in Italy have discussed Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Torino’s Wilfried Singo.
Operating mainly as a right wing-back, he has three goals and four assists to his name from 36 appearances this season.
The 21-year-old’s fine displays has impressed Antonio Conte so much that the Tottenham Hotspur manager ‘insist’ on his signing for the north London club, according to Tuttosport.
Twenty days ago, Fabio Paratici had ‘asked for information directly’ with the Serie A side’s chairman, Urbano Cairo, about the Ivory Coast international. However, the latter said no to any potential transfer.
A week ago, the Tottenham Hotspur chief ‘turned up again’ with an ‘important offer’, a €25m proposal. Cairo again said no and also stressed the player is ‘non-transferable’.
Torino manager Ivan Jurić, is ‘betting strongly’ on Singo to continue at the club next season and ‘does not want to compromise’.
With Conte pushing the idea at Tottenham Hotspur, Paratici has made two attempts, with the latest described as ‘top bid’. However, Torino are still holding out, and Spurs will have to continue pressing if they want to secure Singo in the summer market.
