The French media today shares some surprising news regarding Crystal Palace’s next manager.

According to Foot Mercato, the Eagles ‘absolutely’ want Graham Potter to be in charge of their squad for next season.

It’s claimed that Crystal Palace currently ‘discuss’ the position with him, but there are no big details on how the negotiation is going.

What we all wonder is why it’s the French media who are reporting it, and there’s actually a reasonable reason for that. Potter is currently linked with Nice, and the interest from the Eagles obviously impacts the Ligue 1 side’s chances of landing him.

The 48-year-old has been unemployed since his spell at Chelsea, which took place between September 2022 and April 2023. In that period, he had 12 wins, eight draws and 11 defeats in charge of the Blues.
