West Ham finished 7th last season in the Premier League, only four points off qualifying for the Champions League.
There was a huge feel good factor around the club, as the Hammers prepared to leave Upton Park and move to the Olympic Stadium. The London club organised many events, and the last season at the ground was always going to be special.
Despite every effort, the Olympic Stadium, sorry, the London Stadium isn’t really doing it for fans yet. There have been reports of altercations between supporters, as groups of fans who used to sit together have been moved around.
People who wanted to stand, and had done so for years, were now right in front of people who wanted to, or even needed to, sit. What had been a natural process over the years of peeople finding their favourite and most sutiable seats, had mostly been ripped up.
The club have tried to change little things here and there, but results aren’t helping lift the gloomy feeling. Currently 18th, West Ham have lost four of their five games.
Croatian newspaper 24Sata say ‘euphoria has been replaced by depression’, and the ‘magic that was found in the Boleyn Ground, Slaven Bilic definitely hasn’t brought to the new Olympic Stadium’.
It’s stated Bilic is skating on thin ice, but 24Sata seem to believe the problem is a complicated one for West Ham, and not simply limited to managerial decisions.
