Earlier on Thursday, we covered a claim from InterLive Tottenham Hotspur could push to sign Lautaro Martínez next summer.
The Inter Milan star played under Antonio Conte when the latter was in charge at the San Siro.
Claims of Tottenham’s interest in Martínez is discussed by Italian journalist Enrico De Lellis, when he was interviewed by Calciomercato.it.
According to De Lellis, the ex-Chelsea coach aims to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen to bolster Spurs’ strike force. The journalists further adds the 53-year-old has communicated his wish to the north London club’s chief, Fabio Paratici.
Conte is of the belief the Nigeria international, who is wanted by other clubs, will suit to the needs of the Premier League.
“The Napoli striker is also very popular with Bayern Munich and Manchester United, although the Germans closely follow Sesko as well. Their policy is to carry out operations under 100 million, consequently Osimhen is a secondary option,” the journalist explained.
“The Nigerian is the classic Premier League footballer and it turns out to be the real goal of Tottenham. But it will be necessary to understand his will: he is demanding for the future and not only from an economic point of view.”
Harry Kane has been leading Tottenham’s attack over the years. His deal expires in 2024 and reports from Germany have stated that Bayern Munich are keen to sign him next summer.
It’s not clear whether Conte plans to sign Osimhen to replace the England international or to compete with him.
