Marcelo Bielsa being shown the door at Leeds United received very mixed responses.

The manager had built himself a legend at Elland Road and was very much loved by the fanbase, with his style of football getting wider praise. The Argentine was also the man who took the Whites back to the Premier League after their prolonged period in the relative wilderness.

It’s the danger of going back into that relative wilderness which saw Andrea Radrizzani and those who advise him at Leeds United take the decision to part ways. Jesse Marsch was quickly appointed, without ties having left RB Leipzig via ‘mutual consent’ in December.

Since taking over at the end of February, Marsch has overseen a 1-0 defeat to Leicester City and a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa. He has time to get his ideas across and steer Leeds away from the relegation zone, but not everyone is convinced sending Bielsa away was the right decision.

One of those is Daniele Adani, a former Italy international and now a pundit.

Appearing on Christian Vieri’s Bobo TV, Adani sent a sarcastic message of “congratulations” to Radrizzani and others.

TMW quote him as saying: “I wanted to congratulate the Leeds proprietor who said ‘the locker room doesn’t follow him anymore, the boys needed a kick’. He (Marsch) lost to ninth and twelfth in the Premier League. Bielsa lost to Liverpool and City. Marcelo was the architect of Leeds, he put it back on the map. Now who gets the glory? Congratulations on your choice. Who knows about football makes the right choices, I wish the best to Leeds and to whom has made this choice which is proving to be productive…”

Ouch.
