Since Colombia’s 3-0 defeat to Uruguay on Friday night, the local media has been going in heavy on some national team stars.

James Rodriguez is their most important name, and the Everton player had a disappointing performance, both technically and physically.

So as the Cafeteros prepare to play Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier tonight, the Colombian press shows some concern over how prepared the Toffees star is for the match.

Marca Claro wonders if he’s 100% ready for the game, especially because some ‘rumours’ have been claiming that he won’t be in the starting line-up, as he wasn’t seen wearing the first team bib in training.

Marca Claro claims that James Rodriguez may not be ready to play for 90 minutes, as that could be too much weight on the muscular issues he’s been having at Everton before the international break.

“Queiroz will decide and Ancelotti will be watching for his figure”, the outlet writes, as Colombia and Ecuador face each other in Quito at 10pm GMT. James Rodriguez’s side are currently in 7th place, with four points from three games, and must improve quickly to get in the top five that gives a place at the World Cup.
