Firmino’s contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the current season, meaning the Brazilian is free to pick his next destination.

Whilst there’ll be no transfer fee to pay, the player’s salary is likely to be high as he makes the most of his opportunity.

Inter Milan have been repeatedly linked in England, with the Serie A side said to be keen on the Liverpool forward. However, Calciomercato say these claims are ‘clashing’ with reality at the Italian club.

Firmino’s salary is said to be over €10m a year, and such an amount is ‘completely out of budget’ for Inter Milan, therefore he’s not a player they’re targeting this summer.

That sounds pretty conclusive from Calciomercato, but maybe if the 31-year-old were to drastically cut his requests then he’d have more clubs queuing up for his signature.

A return to South America isn’t thought to be on the cards at this stage of the Liverpool player’s career.

Firmino has played 33 matches for Liverpool this season, scoring 11 goals and adding five assists.
