After failing to seal a move to AS Roma in the last window, Granit Xhaka signed a new contract at Arsenal in August
A transfer didn’t take shape due to Roma’s failure to find an agreement with the Gunners.
Calciomercato.it claim Juventus ‘were at the window’ for the midfielder in the summer, waiting to find out how the negotiations between the Gunners and Roma would take place.
Despite Mikel Arteta’s man saying ‘no’ to the Turin club and also signing an extension at the Emirates, Juve [and Roma] returning for the Switzerland international cannot be ruled out, either in January or next summer.
It’s said Juve are searching for a ‘personality’ in midfield and the former Basel man is an ‘idea’ for them.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Adrien Rabiot have been ‘fluctuating’, while Arthur and Aaron Ramsey are ‘physically unreliable’. With several concerns in the middle of the pitch, Xhaka remains a target for the Serie A side.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side wanting Xhaka is further backed up by Tutto Juve. As per the report, Weston McKennie is not the only option to carry out a potential swap deal.
It’s said Ramsey, the ex-player of the north London club, is in the ‘line of possible players to be included’ in an exchange deal for Xhaka.
