According to the outlet, the Lions are ‘waving’ to the player with an annual salary worth €1m.
Correio da Manhã claims Gyökeres wages at Coventry City are of €280k per year, so that’s a pretty attractive offer for him to move to Lisbon.
It’s said that the clubs who want to keep the striker in England are those who fight against relegation to the Championship. That’s another advantage on Sporting’s side, who can give him the chance of featuring in the Europa League next season.
A Swedish journalist claimed this week that Gyökeres has narrowed down his options to two: the Lions or Everton.Now Correio da Manhã makes a little confusion by saying those words came from the player himself.
Either way, Sporting remain very interested in signing the 25-year-old from Coventry City and are doing their best to win the race.
