Real Betis are concerned that Arsenal could show a renewed interest in star man Guido Rodriguez amid his ‘impeccable performances’ this season.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the Spanish side ‘run the risk of losing him’ in the coming transfer markets.

They managed to keep hold of the Argentine when several Premier League clubs enquired about him, but his current contract is set to expire in 2024 and that is causing concern ahead of next summer.

They run the risk of losing out on millions if the player doesn’t sign a new deal before that point, with the next summer window their last chance to make money from him.

His excellent performances this season, including in last night’s win over Roma, have ‘put him even more in the shop window’ of big European teams and Arsenal are one of them.

They ‘already tried to sign him’ this summer and are still looking for a midfielder who can provide balance and have been linked with the Argentine for the best part of two years.

They’ve never seemingly made a significant move for him, at least none have been reported, but are continuing to keep an eye on him amid his excellent performances this season.

Should they make a move they’ll need at least €30m, which is the price Betis have set on him in the event they do sanction a sale.

Whether that’s a figure Arsenal would want to pay isn’t mentioned, but they have been happy to spend this summer and do need a more defensive minded midfielder.

It’s a situation to keep an eye on, with their interest longstanding and Rodriguez’s performances only helping to increase it.
