Galatasaray are working on signing Nottingham Forest’s Serge Aurier to strengthen the squad for the second half of this season.

The Istanbul club are permitted to carry out the deal as the transfer window in Turkey is open until next Friday. They are in the market for a right-back after selling Sacha Boey to Bayern Munich.

Sabah state the Nottingham Forest man is seen as the ‘perfect’ candidate to replace Boey.

They add the 31-year-old will become the new Galatasaray player and share the details of the negotiations.

The Turkish club shifted their focus on the Ivory Coast international after their president, Dursun Özbek, made a decision to carry out a transfer without paying a fee. His deal with the Tricky Trees expires at the end of this season.

It’s said Galatasaray ‘went through the persuasion process positively’ as they will ‘not pay a fee’ to Nottingham Forest to secure his services. The defender will receive €650,000 until the end of this season, after which he’s free to make a decision on his future.

On Thursday, journalist Ali Naci Küçük explained that Wilfried Zaha is trying to convince his compatriot to join him at Galatasaray. Sabah back it up now and add the winger has played a key role in helping his side in this operation.

Aurier is with the national team at AFCON and sent his lawyers to Istanbul to work on this deal. Today is the last date to submit the squad for the Europa League. The report states Galatasaray want to add him to the UEFA list, meaning the deal should go through in the next few hours.
