The Spanish and Italian sport media continue to circle around Chelsea players like vultures, hoping the club’s situation will see some big names leave during the summer window.

As it stands, Chelsea are not able to sign players or offer renewals. There’s serious financial restraints at Stamford Bridge, and the possibility that things could get even worse.

However, multiple potential new owners got their bids in on Friday and the process of finding a new owner could really speed up in the coming days. That should see Chelsea be in a different situation when the market starts, unless things drag on for longer than the club would want.

Most of the reports ignore all of that, and that’s the case with Monday’s edition of Sport.

The Catalan newspaper claims Barcelona ‘will insist’ on signing César Azpilicueta in the next market, when they believe he’ll be available as a free agent.

Chelsea have an option to extend the defender’s contract, but can’t use that until there’s new ownership in place and the sanctions lifted.

Sport report the ‘operation’ to sign the Spaniard is already happening, and Barcelona do not give up hope there’s a deal there to be done.
