Ever since Zinedine Zidane returned to Real Madrid in March, Gareth Bale is averaging less than 60 minutes per game and the number drops down to below 50 in the last six games.

Marca now claims there is a ‘cold war’ going on between Los Blancos and the Wales international because the latter wants to stay at the club, but his employer wants to get rid of him in the summer.

When discussing the possible options available for the former Tottenham Hotspur man, Manchester United gets a mention as they have chased the forward for several years.

The Spanish capital club view the Red Devils as ‘best option to get rid of Bale’ for two reasons – the financial muscle, and the sporting needs history of the Old Trafford club.

Unfortunately for the 13-time European champions, the 29-year-old is reluctant to leave and when the topic of summer transfer is brought up, both the player and his representatives point towards his contract.

Bale still has three years left on his current deal and his salary of €17m per season will most likely an hindrance for any potential suitors. So far, the La Liga outfit have not received an offer from any club for the Welshman.

With regards to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, it is less of an option for the attacker because they could be playing in the Europa League next season.

It is not the first time Real Madrid have tried to push Bale towards Manchester United. On March 21st, another Spanish newspaper, AS, discussed how the player could be used as part of the deal that will help Zidane’s side sign Paul Pogba.

Last week, the same newspaper reported that Bale is ‘already a problem’ for the Madrid based club and Manchester United are ‘expected with most hope’ to be his next destination.
