Real Betis have Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as their ‘top option’ for a move in the January transfer window.

That’s according to Fichajes, who say the Frenchman could arrive at the Spanish club on a free transfer.

They explain that Lloris is looking to leave Tottenham on a free in January after failing to secure a move in the summer transfer window.

He has found himself as the number two at Spurs this season after the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario in a €20m move from Empoli.

The World Cup winner had expected to move on but that never happened, and he has now turned his attention to the winter window in an attempt to find his new club.

Fichajes say that his possible availability as a free agent in this window ‘has generated great interest’ in the market and Real Betis are one of the clubs who could be keen.

They need a better alternative to current number one Rui Silva, with Claudio Bravo having shown a ‘poor level’ and led to the belief that change is required.

Lloris would be an ideal addition and could provide a ‘significant boost’ for the green and white team, who could see the club as a ‘perfect opportunity’ to avoid leaving European football for at least one more season.

It would depend on Tottenham, who would seemingly need to agree to a free transfer before he could join Betis, but the interest from the Spanish side is there, nonetheless.
