At Sport Witness we will never tire of the outright fear the Spanish media seem to have of Daniel Levy.

Sure, they occasionally explain what a good signing Harry Kane would be, ponder whether Christian Eriksen suits Barcelona or Real Madrid better, and assume that Mauricio Pochettino will one day manage Los Blancos, but sooner or later in all the stories there comes the Levy factor.

Tottenham’s financial hard man has left scars following the transfers of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, not to mention Rafael van der Vaart arriving at Tottenham on a bargain deal.

This all brings us to Friday’s edition of AS which picks up claims from Italy that Real Madrid are interested in Antonio Conte. Julen Lopetegui hasn’t had the best start to life as Madrid manager, so inevitably there’s rumours he could be sacked.

AS look at other candidates and Pochettino is chief among them, but Levy gets a mention.

It’s reported that Tottenham made Real Madrid ‘sweat blood’ over the Modric and Bale deals, and therefore getting the Argentine manager is seen as a very hard task.
