Daniel Levy is one of the most famous club chief’s in world football.

As Lucas Moura reports have peaked this week in France, Levy has been mentioned in many of the reports, with his reputation for tough negotiating often the basis of a story.

Over in Spain the biggest Tottenham related story at the moment is Mauricio Pochettino being of interest to Real Madrid, as the Spanish club continue stumbling under Zinedine Zidane.

Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, not one to side with Madrid, have taken a look at things and explained Levy has a plan to make sure Florentino Perez doesn’t get his man.

First of all it’s explained Pochettino looks well on the idea of managing Real Madrid one day, and there have been loose contacts via third parties. Levy is said to be aware Perez is keen on Pochettino and Harry Kane, and is determined to thwart him.

The Real Madrid president has already ‘suffered’ at the hands of Levy, explain Mundo Deportivo, and is still stung by previous transfer negotiations with Tottenham. He knows it won’t be easy, and Levy wants to make it even harder.

The newspaper states: ‘Tottenham will try not only to improve Mauricio Pochettino’s contract economically, but also to reinforce the team with a couple of signings of proven quality.’

Mundo Deportivo believe Levy will likely win the battle, with it being stated the recruitment of Kane and Pochettino ‘seems almost impossible’.
