After signing Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi, Olympiacos have now stepped up the chase to sign a midfielder and are seriously interested in Nottingham Forest’s Claudio Jacob, reports Greek website Sdna.Gr.

In recent weeks we’ve covered claims from Greece that the Argentinian midfielder has caught the attention of Olympiacos, and Sdna today reports the Greek club are looking to sign the player.

It’s reported Nottingham Forest are likely to part ways with the 31 year old in this window and Jacob also wants to join the Greek giants this summer.

Sdna claims there was a chance for the player to move to the Greek Super League last summer and the former West Bromwich Albion player is now eager to make it happen.

Jacob joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer last summer after his contract with West Brom expired, but the former Argentina international hasn’t made a big mark at the City Ground.

Yacob made 16 appearances for Nottingham Forest last season and he’s under contract with the Championship club until June 2020.
