On October 17th, Haber7 stated Galatasaray have ‘great regrets’ after rejecting €20m bids from Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla for Victor Nelsson in the last window.

It was also reported the Istanbul club turned down the offers after manager Okan Buruk insisted on retaining the defender.

Türkiye Gazetesi state Tottenham also tried signing the 25-year-old using another formula in the summer window.

It’s claimed Ange Postecoglou’s side had offered €2m plus Davinson Sánchez in exchange for the centre-back. However, the Turkish champions’ rejected the swap deal because they wanted to collect €25m for the Denmark international.

Galatasaray eventually signed Sánchez in September, and confirmed on their official website that they paid €9.5m to Spurs. Had they agreed for a swap deal involving Nelsson earlier, it would have taken the overall cost of the deal for the Dane to €11.5m.

Meanwhile, Nelsson has lost prominence this season and hasn’t made an appearance since coming off the bench against Antalyaspor on October 7th.

Due to this, Türkiye Gazetesi state his valuation has dropped and the €25m asking price has now ‘become a dream’.

Two days ago, Akşam stated Nelsson is preparing to leave the club in January and Spurs are interested in securing his services. With the defender’s valuation dropping, Tottenham could be in line to carry out a cheap deal.
