Southampton owned midfielder Mario Lemina, who’s currently on loan at Galatasaray, has told the Turkish club’s board he wants to remain with them beyond this season.

Gala loaned the Gabonese midfielder from the Saints last summer, and the player has been impressing for the Turkish side since his arrival.

Milliyet report the former Juventus player has made a good impression with the Super Lig club’s manager Fatih Terim and the Galatasaray board will soon open talks with Southampton with regards to signing him permanently.

Galatasaray have the option to sign Lemina for €16m, but given their current financial status it’s unlikely they will be able to offer this.

Skorer report Galatasaray’s board are preparing for ‘tough bargaining’ with Southampton and they are likely to offer €8m to sign the 26 year old.

Lemina has made 19 appearances for Gala in all competitions this season, scoring one goal. His contract with Southampton will expire at the end of June 2022.
