It was claimed the Tricky Trees even made an approach for the signing, even though an offer wasn’t made.
Now if Nottingham Forest didn’t want to pay the price for the transfer back then, they should have a great chance in the January window, according to the latest report from Jorge Nicola.
It’s claimed that in Mendez’ case, the Tricolor are willing to accept ‘any’ offer that includes financial compensation, as the player couldn’t settle at the club.
Nicola recalls that a Turkish club recently made an offer for a free move, but that wasn’t accepted by São Paulo, who want at least a little money for his departure.
The whole situation makes us wonder whether Nottingham Forest would actually invest in his signing, as his situation in Brazil makes it clear he’s not having his best form.
