A couple of weeks ago, we’ve all seen the Argentine media coming up with stories saying Edinson Cavani could be on his way to Boca Juniors pretty soon.
It was claimed that the striker could decide to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, and would then fulfil a ‘promise’ he’s made to the Argentine club.
However, the rumour quickly went quiet, especially with Cavani getting big praises from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, making it look likely he’ll stay at Old Trafford for another year.
So as El Intransigente writes about Boca Juniors’ quest for a striker today, they bring a little update on their chase for the Uruguayan international.
The outlet claims the big ‘dream’ that Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme has is the arrival of Cavani.
However, even though the signing ‘seemed possible for this year’, it now has been ‘diluting’ at each day. That’s why they should go for other targets instead.
Cavani’s contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season, but includes an option for another year. The striker has seven goals and two assists in 24 appearances for the Red Devils so far.
