Flamengo are preparing a bid for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, according to claims from Brasil.

Goal Brasil writes that the clubs have restarted talks about the move and the Rio de Janeiro side ‘should place a new offer’ to land the 26-year-old.

The bid is set to be €5m for only half of the player’s rights, letting Manchester United keep 50% income from any future transfer.

The Red Devils, however, continue to ask for more. Even though they don’t expect him to be in Erik ten Hag’s squad, they still demand €10m for the player.

Goal Brasil adds that Manchester United became irritated with Flamengo’s posturing during the talks. That’s because despite the €20m buying option the clubs had agreed in the summer, they soon walked away from that.

It’s said Flamengo are ‘evaluating the possibility’ of sending an official to England, and Pereira himself is willing to show the Red Devils his wish of staying in Brazil. The midfielder’s loan, however, expires on Thursday, and Goal Brasil says the situation should only see advances in July.
