Tottenham are close to agreeing on a deal with Barcelona for defender Emerson Royal to move before deadline day.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who back up similar reports that a deal is in the pipeline.
The newspaper says that Barcelona and Tottenham are close to agreeing on a deal for the Brazilian, who was originally keen to stay at the Camp Nou.
They are now actively negotiating a sale with Tottenham, with sources at the club confirming they are ‘outlining the sale’.
Barcelona had originally rejected Tottenham’s first offer on Saturday but have now decided to open negotiations, presumably because of the money involved.
Emerson is a target for Tottenham manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who has reportedly followed the player since he joined Real Betis in 2019.
A deal is now close to being done for him, with increased confidence in Spain that it will be finalised sooner rather than later.
