FC Twente have ‘still not given up hope’ of signing Facundo Pellistri from Manchester United this summer.

That’s according to Twente Fans, who say the player has been made available and the Dutch club are hoping to win the race for him.

Numerous reports over the last few weeks have linked them with a move for the winger, who endured something of a frustrating year on the sidelines at Manchester United last season.

It’s been made clear that Erik ten Hag is happy to let him spend a year out on loan and has been recommending to the player and his agents that he join his former club, Twente.

A deal is yet to happen, though, with the youngster instead travelling to the USA to join United on their pre-season tour.

They’re set to return from that soon and Twente Fans report that when they do, Twente ‘will soon sit down’ with them to negotiate a deal for Pellistri.

The belief is that there is an agreement there to be reached and he will spend the season on loan in the Netherlands, despite the interest from Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

For that to happen there needs to be a new round of talks, which Twente seemingly plan to hold with Manchester United in the very near future.
