Sevilla have made a ‘last-ditch bid’ for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon, despite closing in on a deal for Alex Telles.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say despite having advanced the signing of the Brazilian, Reguilon is the player that Julen Lopetegui ‘likes the most’.
Thus, according to the newspaper, Sevilla are not giving up on signing Reguilon and have been in contact with Tottenham to see if there is any potential for a deal there.
Reguilon is the preferred option for Lopetegui as he has already worked with him at Sevilla so they have made a last-ditch attempt in the last few hours to try and lower Tottenham’s demands.
Initial conversations had seen Spurs set a price that Sevilla considered was ‘too high’ for Reguilon, who is not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
It is because of that they have looked elsewhere and almost wrapped up a deal for Manchester United’s Telles instead.
That is still pending but as Reguilon is the preferred option for the manager they are making one last effort to get him.
The defender ‘deeply desires’ a return to the Spanish club and is ‘putting pressure’ on Tottenham to accept Sevilla’s offer, which was initially a loan with an option to buy.
