Bristol City will have to compete with Inter Milan for Torino defender Koffi Djidji, with the Italian side ‘seriously thinking about’ a move.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say put Bristol City in the race for the defender’s signature again following reports last week.

We covered a claim from Sport Mediaset on the 17th of November that claimed Bristol City were eyeing Djidji, who could be set to leave Torino in the January transfer window.

Calciomercato pick up on that today, explaining that Inter are also looking at the centre-back as they seek to improve their own defence.

Djidji represents a ‘welcome solution’ for them as he is experienced, ready for action and knows how to play in all three positions in a three-man defence.

He could also be available on the cheap as his contract is set to expire and the distance between the offer that Torino have made and what he is requesting is ‘still great’.

That discrepancy has opened up the possibility of a market opportunity and a first survey has already been made.

Inter aren’t the only suitors, though, with Inter knowing they have to ‘watch out’ for the competition with Bristol City and Anderlecht named specifically.

Like Inter they know that the defender could leave Torino for a ‘bargain price’ in January and so have started to make moves to explore the possibility of a deal.
