Earlier today we covered a big and confident report from Mundo Deportivo on Ilaix Moriba moving to Tottenham.

It was explained Spurs are in talks with Barcelona, things are progressing well, and the Premier League club are ‘close’ to the €20m asking price.

The only worry for Tottenham was RB Leipzig, with it being stated the player’s camp have some sort of agreement with the Bundesliga side over a free transfer next summer.

Sport focus in on the Leipzig issue, and they’re more concerned than Mundo Deportivo.

Regarding Tottenham, it’s explained Barcelona have informed Moriba they’re in a position to agree a sale to the London club. However, there’s also bad news.

The midfielder’s agents are said to want a Leipzig move, ‘yes or yes’, but Barcelona aren’t willing to sell to the German club right now.

Leipzig first arrived with a €6m offer, then raised that to €8m, and have been using the threat of a free move next year to try and bully Barcelona.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are said to have offered €15m plus bonuses.

Moriba’s agents are insistent he moves to Leipzig, yet it’s stated the player himself is tempted by Tottenham and has asked those agents to listen to what Spurs have to offer.

Sport call it a ‘monumental mess’.
