The transfer of Ruben Vinagre from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Sporting will be announced by the clubs today, according to reports from the Portuguese media.
Newspaper A Bola says the full-back has already signed a contract with the Lions following his medical with the Lisbon side on Thursday.
Vinagre is joining Sporting on a one-year loan deal, which will become a permanent move at the end of the season due to an obligatory buying clause worth €10m.
That’s when he’ll sign a contract which will run until 2026.
The fullback will be protected by a release clause of €45m, with Wolves having the right over 50% of a future transfer.
Vinagre started his career at Sporting and moved to Monaco in 2015.
In 2017, he joined Wolves first on a loan deal, then on a €2.25m move, where he made 70 appearances for the Molineux side, but then ended up losing his place in the squad, spending the last season on loans at Olympiacos and Famalicão.
Now, however, it’s time for him to go back to his first club.
