With AS Roma now set to lose the race for Alvaro Morata, it seems they can turn their attentions back to West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.

That’s today written by Calciomercato, who claims the Rossoneri are ready to go back to their ‘original plan’, as the player ‘can’t wait’ to return to the Italian capital.

It’s claimed that following the sale of Declan Rice, West Ham now ‘opened up’ the possibility of letting Scamacca go on a paid loan which includes a buying clause depending on Roma’s qualification for European competitions.

Giallorossi director Tiago Pinto is set to ‘try again’ to find an agreement ‘in these hours’.

The loan would include a fee of less than €5m, with them paying the player a salary worth €2.5m net.

Now it seems West Ham can’t be too tough in these talks, because then Roma would go for other alternatives.

The report adds that in case the Italian side can’t manage to sign Scamacca, then they could try to land Anthony Martial, who Manchester United could let leave on a more simple loan deal.
