Spanish side Almeria have contacted Nottingham Forest about a potential deal for centre-back Chema in January.

Chema joined Forest in the summer transfer window, signing a two-year deal in a £450,000 deal from La Liga side Levante.

He has struggled in England though, failing to make the matchday squad for six of Nottingham Forest’s first seven games of the season.

He has since managed just two starts and only 236 minutes of league football since and has spent the last seven games sat on the bench failing to make an appearance.

It has sparked suggestions that a departure from Nottingham Forest may be on the cards and according to journalist Angel Garcia Alvarez, Almeria are interested.

He reports that the Segunda División team have asked Forest about a possible transfer for the 27-year-old in the January transfer window.

Grada 3 say the club are on the hunt for a new centre-back this window and Chema, who has experience at all levels of Spanish football, would fit the bill and represent a ‘great reinforcement’.

Alvarez doesn’t mention if this deal would be a loan or permanent, just that the interest is there and contact has been made, making this one to keep an eye on with January just around the corner.
