Having arrived at Manchester City from Juventus in the final days of the summer window, João Cancelo has made 12 starts for the English champions in all competitions this season.
However, only five of them have come in the Premier League and lack of opportunities in the league has seen him linked with a move away from the club in the winter market.
Pep Guardiola has also responded to the rumours around the right-back’s future and admitted the player to make a decision on whether he wants to continue at City or make move elsewhere.
On December 19th, we carried a report from Bild, who explained Bayern Munich are ‘interested’ in the Portugal international, but it was dismissed by Sky in Germany six days later.
According to Munich based outlet TZ, the Bundesliga winners are still looking at the 25-year-old. It’s claimed Bayern ‘contacted’ City to sign the defender on loan in the ongoing window.
However, the Etihad club have no plans of allowing Cancelo to go out on a temporary deal and will only allow him leave the club on a permanent transfer.
Therefore, a return to Cancelo’s former club Valencia is more likely than him joining Bayern in January.
