According to Gunes, Fenerbahce are interested in signing Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.

With Martin Skrtel set to leave this summer due to his contract expiring, the Super Lig side are in the market for a replacement and they’ve identified the Arsenal man as an option.

Skrtel has been linked with a reunion with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

Gunes claim Fenerbahce have contacted Mesut Ozil’s agent Erkut Sogut to get information about Mustafi and are now considering making an offer for the 27 year old.

It’s reported Arsenal are looking to part ways with the German because Unai Emery doesn’t include him in his plans for next season.

Fenerbahce are now exploring the possibilities with regards to signing the player and they could make an official loan offer to Arsenal in the coming days.

Mustafi played 40 games last season for the Gunners and still has two years left on his current contract.
