Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has spoken to Turkish newspaper Vatan about the latest developments at the club and their activity in this transfer window.

Cengiz gave an insight into Everton attacker Henry Onyekuru signing for the Turkish club and he revealed they had to keep the deal secret as covered by Sporx: “We needed total secrecy for the signature of Onyekuru. I didn’t even tell my family about that.”

The Galatasaray chief added: “We went through a very detailed medical for Henry. We knew about his injury and his physical status but we’re sure that he’ll have an injury free season here.”

Due to his ongoing issues with a work permit it always seemed likely the Everton player would again be loaned out this season, following his spell with Anderlecht in the last campaign.

Signed from Eupen last summer, Onyekuru is still waiting to make his debut for Everton, but after recent comments from the youngster it seems he wants a future at Goodison Park.

Onyekuru said it would be a dream to play in the Premier League and this was the reason he turned down Ligue 1 champions PSG for Everton.
