Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann has confirmed to the German media they are in talks to sign Djurgarden defender Felix Beijmo.

The 20 year old has also been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the past week following their attempts to sign him in January.

Speaking to Delmenhorster Kreisblatt, Baumann was asked about the Bundesliga side’s interest in the young Swede: “I can confirm our interest in Felix Beijmo. But there is nothing agreed. We are in talks with the player and Djurgarden.”

The German newspaper also backs up that Wolves are in the race to sign Beijmo as reported in the Swedish media this week. Wolves had initially held intensive talks to sign the fullback in the last window, but pulled out of the deal close to deadline day.

It’s also claimed Werder Bremen are leading the way to sign Beijmo and from Baumann’s comments they seem to be making progress.

Wolves could also face competition from Bournemouth, but both Premier League clubs need to act quickly with Werder Bremen closing in on the player.
