Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the signings of Hector Bellerin from Arsenal and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea are imminent.
That’s according to Gerard Romero, who said Laporta ‘confirms’ that the two players will be arriving at the Nou Camp on deadline day when asked by his fellow journalist Carlos Montfort.
He reports that Laporta had lunch with Mateu Alemany and Fali Ramadani earlier today before confirming to Jijantes that Alonso would be arriving from Chelsea and Bellerin from Arsenal.
Marca back up the latter stating that there is a ‘total agreement’ with the Arsenal defender for a loan until the end of the season, but that deal will not include an option to buy.
According to their information, Bellerin had been waiting for Real Betis, his boyhood club who he spent last season on loan with and wanted to re-join this summer.
However, the Andalusian side had trouble making space in their budget to accommodate his signing and so he has now elected to join Barcelona instead, where he should have no problem fitting in.
