Injuring himself on Monday night against Atalanta, Diego Llorente will have to wait and see whether he will play again for AS Roma before the end of the season while on loan from Leeds United.

The Spanish defender was a late arrival at the Serie A club during the January transfer window, and it took him a while to convince José Mourinho to use him, but things had been going well for him of late.

So much so that there was a lot of talk about AS Roma buying him permanently from Leeds, which Voce Giallorossa touched upon on Monday.

Looking at the Spaniard’s situation, they explain that the Italians ‘seems to be intent on wanting the defender for next season’, which is exactly what Victor Orta will want.

However, as previously mentioned in other articles, the €18m fee agreed by Leeds and Roma in January seems a bit more, and that’s why the ‘far more plausible scenario’ is that Tiago Pinto will ‘sit down at the table to try to convince the English club to lower the redemption fee’.

He will do this by ‘opening real negotiations’ once more, at which point ‘the ball will pass’ to Leeds, who will have to decide what they want to do with Llorente.

Do they want to bring him back and see if they can get €18m elsewhere or simply sell him to Roma for a lower fee just to get rid of him easily?
