Manchester United are keeping an eye on Mjällby AIF’s Otto Rosengren and this was confirmed by the Swedish club’s sporting director, Hans Larsson, last week.

The chief had also revealed Viborg and AGF have joined the Red Devils to have their official monitor the 19-year-old closely in action for his side.

After Mjällby’s 2-0 defeat to Brommapojkarna on Monday, Fotbollskanalen had a chat with the midfielder and asked him about his thoughts on Manchester United looking at him.

“It’s nice to hear and it shows that you are doing something well. But I don’t attach too much importance to it,” he said.

“It’s quite powerful. But then, of course, you can’t think about that when you’re playing. But when you think about it, it’s quite big.”

“Just keep playing my game. It’s hard work that got me here, and I want to keep developing. It’s the same job. You can’t be satisfied anywhere; you have to keep going and then there will be good opportunities.”

The Sweden U21 international has admitted he wasn’t aware that the Premier League giants have sent their official to watch him in action for Mjällby. He was surprised when he found out about Manchester United.

“I didn’t know that club was here, I didn’t even know they had been to Strandvallen. I was shocked when I read about it. I sat at home and saw when it came out, it said that United are scouting me, I was a bit shocked,” Rosengren explained.

Apart from Erik ten Hag’s side, Fotbollskanalen state Feyenoord and Heerenveen have also sent their scouts to follow the teenager.

Rosengren, who has a deal until 2025, is now aware of the interest shown by other clubs. He has stressed when he will consider leaving Mjällby.

“There is interest, but it is nothing concrete as far as I know. You have to take a stand if there is something concrete, an offer or something like that. I have a contract until 2025,” he added.
