PSV Eindhoven have rejected an initial bid from Chelsea for Noni Madueke as they look to make more from a potential sale.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by Voetbal Primeur, who say a €30m offer from the Blues has been deemed insufficient by the Dutch club.
The newspaper explains that after losing Cody Gakpo to Liverpool at the beginning of the month, there is a real danger that Madueke could be on the move as well.
That bid, though, ‘is not enough’ for PSV to let go of the 20-year-old and they will have to ‘come up with more money’ if they want to sign the Englishman.
Whether Chelsea will do so isn’t clear at this point, particularly after their €100m move for Mykhaylo Mudryk was finalised over the weekend.
That’s a huge deal and it remains to be seen whether there is any money left for further signings such as Madueke. It is also unclear what PSV’s selling point would be as well.
For now, a first bid has been made and rejected, but there is a real possibility Chelsea will return with a second one before the end of the month.
