In unsurprising news, there is a good chance that Marcos Alonso will leave Chelsea this summer, and Barcelona could be his destination.

With Andreas Christensen already expected to head to Catalonia in the coming weeks, the Dane could be joined by the Spaniard, as Mundo Deportivo are convinced he is the ‘number one objective’ of the La Liga side to bolster the left side of their defence.

The newspaper, on their website, claim ‘his agent is trying to unravel his future’, as he only has one year left on his contract at Chelsea, and he ‘looks very favourably on his signing for Barcelona’.

He’s aware that Xavi ‘loves him’, already knows his future plans ‘first hand’ and is simply ‘waiting to find out what conditions the English club will set’.

In fact, those in charge of his affairs are ‘already speaking with Marina Granovskaia’, and the belief is that ‘the situation can begin to unravel next week’.

However, Chelsea are ‘not going to give Marcos Alonso away’, and are going to try and ‘get the most’ out of the final year on his contract.

Barcelona, down their end, are in quite the financial pickle and ‘cannot offer much’, meaning they will therefore ‘set a limit’.

If they can’t find an agreement for Alonso, they will then move onto their more ‘low cost’ option, who is Javi Galán, contracted to Celta Vigo.
