Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to travel today to link up with Marseille before finalising a move to the club.

That’s according to La Provence, who say that unless there is a major turnaround, Aubameyang should join his new teammates in their pre-season training camp in North West Germany.

They report that Aubameyang is scheduled in for the usual medical tests ahead of his move from Chelsea, who have already agreed to let him leave on a free transfer.

That means the Gabon international is free to do as he pleases, and he should ‘very quickly commit’ to Marseille and sign a three year contract with the Ligue 1 side.

Aubameyang is ‘extremely motivated’ about the new opportunity and has turned down offers from Saudi Arabia and the United States to continue his career in Europe.

He wants to relaunch his career in France, where he started with FC Rouen U19 and St Bastia U19 before moving to Milan in July 2008.

He then later had spells with Dijon, Lille, Monaco and Saint-Etienne, the latter where he shined the most, bagging 41 goals and 25 assists in 97 games before moving on to Borussia Dortmund.

It seems he is now ready to make a return and hope to reignite the spark following a more than miserable spell at Chelsea.
