In need of replacements for Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen, the Blues set their sights on the Juventus star, while the Senegal international was initially seen as an alternative.
However, Corriere dello Sport on Friday claim that ‘Chelsea do not discard two purchases in defence’.
They look at the Koulibaly situation and make it clear the Blues ‘are interested in Kalidou and have no problem investing what Aurelio De Laurentiis has requested’.
That being said, with the La Liga side’s current financial situation, his agent, Fali Ramadani, ‘began to work intensively on the operation in London’.
Meanwhile, all Napoli can do is wait for ‘the official offer to understand and evaluate’, knowing ‘the danger is serious’ regardless of whether De Ligt chooses Chelsea over Bayern Munich.
