The idea that Chelsea could make a bid for Milan’s Rafael Leao is something the Italian media are quite worried about, such is the spending power at the Blues’ disposal these days.

Todd Boehly has made it clear the Portuguese forward is a player he would like to see at Stamford Bridge, and while attempts to get a deal over the summer never produced anything, that could change in the near future.

On Thursday, it was said that Chelsea could exceed €100m with their next bid, a fee they have previously spent on Romelu Lukaku, but Gazzetta dello Sport reckon they can go even higher than that.

Looking at what could happen going forward, a renewal at Milan would be the first port of call, but ‘the problem is that the Portuguese wants the Rossoneri to pay the €19m due to Sporting CP together with Lille’.

This has caused a stalemate, which Chelsea can take advantage of, with the Premier League side ‘willing to come close to the stratospheric Milanista valuation’, currently standing at €150m.

They won’t quite go that high, but the belief is that the Stamford Bridge side ‘can reach €120m, maybe with some technical counterparts’.

Not only that, but ‘the excellent relations between the American owners of the two clubs should not be overlooked’.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are also ‘following the dossier’, but they don’t appear to be anywhere near as keen as Chelsea for the time being.
