Chelsea and Liverpool are ‘after’ Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde.

That’s what Sport are reporting in today’s edition of the newspaper and they also provide additional details of the two English clubs’ interest in the 17-year-old.

Balde operates as a left-back and his rise at the Catalan club has seen him represent them in the UEFA Youth League this season, where he has made four appearances and has an assist to his name.

According to the report, there are ‘many clubs’ interested in the young defender and his ‘power and projection’ hasn’t gone unnoticed, especially in the Premier League.

Regarding the Blues and the Merseyside club, Sport states they have ‘already approached’ the teenager’s surroundings to try and get him out of the La Liga side.

It’ll be difficult for both Chelsea and Liverpool to sign Balde because, as per the claims, he is ‘comfortable’ at Barcelona.

He’s aware of the backing he has from the Blaugrana, who ‘will give continuity to his career’.

Should everything go as per the plan, Balde will get his chance with the first team as the Spanish giants view him as a bet for the future and the present.

With Balde feeling comfortable at the club and Barcelona having a plan for him, Chelsea and Liverpool are likely to struggle to sign the starlet.
