In what is, undoubtedly, one of the strangest stories this week, Chelsea are allegedly emailing other Premier League clubs to warn them off signing their 11-year-old prodigy Emran Soglo.
According to FootMercato in France, the club are so worried the youngster could be taken from them that they’ve started to play him in different positions in order to hide his natural abilities.
Already scoring 11 goals and picking up nine assists in four games for Chelsea’s U13s, the young boy’s statistics are drawing a lot of unwanted attention, but the club’s handling of the whole situation has been slammed by Soglo’s mother.
Speaking to the French website, she said: “I can’t stand my son being hidden any longer”.
All she wants is for Emran to play football normally like other boys his age, and explained money was never an issue.
Chelsea’s behaviour is seemingly hindering the youngster’s development, and the family want out, which they’ve already told the London club.
FootMercato explain Manchester City are allegedly very interested in the youngster, but a move to Spain could also be a possibility.
We’re going to keep an eye out for this in the coming days, as this isn’t just your everyday transfer rumour.
