Celtic are reportedly one of the latest clubs to join the race for RKC Waalwijk defender Ahmed Touba.

The information about Ange Postecoglou’s side is today brought by French outlet Foot Mercato, who detail the competition the 24-year-old has been drawing the summer.

The story claims that ‘in recent weeks’, many clubs have been ‘looked into his profile’, and that includes the likes of AEK Athens, Benfica, Betis and Bayer Leverkusen.

Then it’s claimed that the approaches made ‘more recently’ came from Celtic and Greek side Olympiacos.

Foot Mercato has many positive comments to make about Touba, claiming he’s ‘quick, lively, solid’ defender, ‘showing constant progression’ with the Dutch side and with the Algeria national team.

The reason for their story is obviously the interest from French clubs, as the likes of Angers and Olympique Marseille are added to the long list of pretenders as well.

The report just doesn’t say how much Celtic or other clubs would need to pay to get him this summer.

On Transfermarkt, he’s valued at only 1m, but all this competition should obviously bring his price up.
