Celtic winger Liel Abada ‘should be on’ Ajax’s list for the January transfer window, with the Dutch club in need of a new right-winger.

That’s according to MSN, who look at eight players Ajax could target in the window after failing to add a player there this summer.

They explain that it is ‘expected’ Ajax will make a move for a right-winger when they get the chance, with that an area former director of football Sven Mislintat failed to strengthen in.

MSN have taken a look at potential options using data available to them, with the caveat that any player needs to be 23 years old or younger. Celtic’s Abada falls into that category.

He was already linked to Ajax in the summer and that wasn’t without reason as his profile ‘fits in perfectly’ with what the Dutch giants are looking for.

His current data would put him among the best performing players at the club and the fact he’s a classic winger with a lot of speed would provide ‘added value’ to Maurice Steijn’s squad.

The big problem would be his asking price, with MSN saying he’s currently valued at €14.8m and it would take an expensive operation to get him out of Celtic Park.

He’s very much a key player under Brendan Rodgers and they have no intention of letting him go on the cheap, particularly as Celtic have an ‘excellent negotiating position’ thanks to the fact he’s tied down until a deal until 2027.

Thus, the Bhoys have no need to sell or even negotiate a deal, meaning Ajax would have to be very convincing if they want to make Abada their new winger.
