This week Anderlecht’s Sofiane Hanni flew to Russia to agree terms with Spartak Moscow, and with Anderlecht also being keen on the deal everything looked sorted and completed.

But Het Nieuwsblad explain Burnley have made a last minute attempt to hijack the transfer. The Belgian newspaper say there’s lots of agents hanging around the deal and Burnley were brought into the picture at some point on Tuesday.

Now there’s an issue over Hanni’s personal terms with Spartak, because after the intervention of Bunrley the player suddenly wants a better contract.

Talks to try and sort that were held until 3am this morning and will continue today, but it looks more likely Hanni will become a Spartak player than sign for Burnley.

It sounds like a really late intervention from Burnley, and perhaps there could be s suspicion the Premier League club are being used to get Hanni a better deal from Spartak.

With there said to be lots of agents around the deal, it’s a scenario not to be ruled out.
