Despite Burnley’s advanced talks for the signing of Mohamed Daramy from Ajax, it now seems this pursuit could get more complicated.

Outlet Voetbal International is the one featuring an update on the chase. They claim that even though the Clarets had been the ‘main candidates’ for the signing, Stade de Reims now joined the battle.

Burnley had already placed a first offer for the signing, and according to the story, the possibility of a deal could now be ‘hijacked’ by the French club.

Daramy isn’t expected to have much playing time at Ajax this season, and that’s why his departure became a bit of an obvious subject at the club.

Voetbal International says the player ‘had a preference’ for Burnley, but with Reims also keen, he is said to now have doubts about where to play next, as he could get more minutes in France.

The Clarets also seem to have a disadvantage in the talks with Ajax, because as they tried a loan deal, the French side are said to be willing to pay over €15m for the permanent move.
