With the January transfer just around the corner, it’s no surprise to see clubs step up their scouting as clubs do some last minute checking up on potential targets.

Burnley and Crystal Palace are no different, sending representatives down to the south of France to watch Bordeaux face Strasbourg in a game that ended in a 1-0 win for the visitors.

That’s according to Girondins4Ever, who publish a list of scouts present at the game, with the Clarets and the Eagles joined by a number of other clubs, including Arsenal, Everton and Aston Villa.

This isn’t the first time both Burnley and Palace have been at a Bordeaux game together, already doing so towards the end of November.

Back then, we suggested the pair could be keeping an eye on François Kamano, who is one of the Ligue 1 side’s bigger stars.

There were other players on display, of course, with Ibrahima Sissoko, previously linked with Newcastle, offering a good midfield option for any Premier League club in need of reinforcement there.

If it’s defenders they are after in January, then Burnley and Crystal Palace could have been looking at Strasbourg’s Alexander Djiku or Bordeaux’s Pablo (previously linked with Manchester United).

As for the striker options, former Sunderland youngster Josh Maja started the game, while Ludovic Ajorque, who got the game’s only goal, would be an interest target man option for many clubs with his 6’5” frame.
